About Me
Video Games
I love to play all sorts of games--2D and 3D, handheld and console, arcade and next gen, Wii and 360. Currently, I just finished up Mass Effect 2 (shoutout to Bioware, who made me believe in the possibility of good interactive storytelling in games--a miracle), and I am about halfway through Zelda: Spirit Tracks. As for design, I am adaptable to almost any sort of game, but I prefer the hands-on style of 2D game development.
Education
I am crazy-curious about the world around me and a glutton for academic punishment, so I've ended up earning more degrees than I could possibly need (see: resume). Sometimes I miss wandering into the arcane and useless reaches of the academic sphere, but mostly I'm glad I moved on. Game development lets me use all my accumulated knowledge, but it's also practical AND fun, and I can find the products I make on Amazon.com. I couldn't ask for anything more.
Crafts and Art
I love to work with my hands. I've tried almost every craft there is out there that doesn't require a blowtorch (I need a garage for that), including oil and acrylic painting, knitting and crochet, and cooking. In the past six months I've been learning to dye, spin and weave my own yarn. This means that if you supply me with a fluffy sheep and a razor, in a few months I can hand you a sweater.
